undergraduate @ chicago

Chicago has more postgraduates than undergraduates (9,000 to 5,000), underlining its focus on advanced academic exploration. The Chicago School of economics, embracing Milton Friedman’s pro-market philosophy, developed here, as did the first self-sustained manmade nuclear reaction. Founded in 1890 with a grant by John D. Rockefeller, Chicago now operates 125 research institutes and centres.

The University of Chicago offers first-year applicants two application plans:
Early Action Regular Notification
Application Due Date November 1 January 3
Admission Decision by Mid-December Late March
Student-Reply Due Date May 1 May 1

Applicants may apply for entrance in the autumn quarter only; students are not admitted in other quarters.
Our Early Action program is open and non-binding.
